Micropile Load Test
Marginal soil conditions at the site of Lake Forest High School’s building addition required 52 micropiles with a capacity of 110 kips each to be installed to a depth of over 100’. Both cased and hollow bar micropile systems were used on this project.
Installation of these foundation elements was required both inside and outside of the existing structure. Specialized compact drilling equipment was used for the low overhead interior work. The load test shown had overall movement of .063” at twice the design load.
