Structural Underpinning – Resistance Piers
Improperly compacted fill materials caused approximately two inches of differential settlement in this recently constructed stairwell addition. The Atlas Resistance Pier was selected as the repair product of choice due to its ability to stabilize and lift/restore the sinking structure back to its original elevation.
Eleven 4” grout filled piles with a capacity of 110 kips were installed to a depth of 63’. The structure was then lifted and restored to its proper elevation.
