Atlas Resistance® Piers are typically used to stabilize and raise existing structures that have experienced differential settlement or to increase the load capacity of an existing foundation. The Atlas Pier is an assembly of structural steel components which includes a pier head mounted on a steel pier. Piers are spaced at adequate centers where each is hydraulically driven to a suitable stratum and then tested to a force greater than required to lift the structure. This procedure effectively load tests each pier prior to lift and provides a measured Factor of Safety.

Resistance piers come in a variety of sizes that range from 2 7/8” up to 4 1/2” in diameter with ultimate load carrying capabilities up to 141 kips. There are four different bracket configurations to choose from dependent upon the application.

Standard 2-Piece System
  • Use for stabilization and or lifting of settled structures up to 4”
  • Under footing bracket design reduces eccentric force on foundation wall
Plate Pier
  • Easy surface mount installation
  • May be used on round columns
Continuous Lift Pier
  • Use for lifts exceeding 4”
  • Exceptional, extended lift capabilities
Predrilled Pier
  • Drilled pier access hole required where unsuitable rock is near surface
  • Use where designer requires penetration into bearing rock
