Many buildings and structures experience distress due to settlement.  These problems are often caused by weak or improperly compacted soils beneath the foundation.  Shallow foundations may settle due to soil desiccation brought on by droughts.  Symptoms include drywall cracking, stair step cracks in brick, windows/doors that don't operate properly and cracks in the foundation.

The old method of using concrete to underpin settled foundations is both costly and ineffective.  We offer a long term solution for foundation settlement problems through the patented and tested ATLAS PIERS® system.  This manufactured, two-stage product is designed specifically to produce measured structural support.  First, the pier pipe is driven to a firm bearing stratum; then the lift equipment is combined with a manifold system to lift the structure.

Where site conditions and load requirements warrant, this system can combine with Chance® helical tieback anchors.  The helical anchors contribute lateral support while the resistance piers provide vertical support.  This unique combination forms a fast, effective solution for challenges beyond the capabilities of other systems.  Other underpinning applications include slabs and columns.
