Load Reducing Fills

Cellular concrete is an ideally suited material for various road and highway applications.  Uses include replacement of (or bridging over) existing unsuitable soils for load reduction, construction of embankments for bridge approaches or ramps, and backfilling of MSE panels/retaining walls.

Many of these projects require large quantities to be placed.

Lightweight foam concrete is an ideal solution in such cases, because:

• when used as a sub-base, it has stability, strength and minimal weight.
• it imparts minimal lateral load.
• its use will minimize future settlement.
• its low density allows for rapid pumping of substantial quantities.
